Playa Potrero

Beautiful long beach with dark sand. Walk along all the way to the Flamingo Marina and you will see all the fishing boats. Watch out for the tides because you will have to cross an estuary!

In the other direction, you will walk towards the village of Potrero. There is a bar called Las Brisas at the end of the beach.

Playa Flamingo

Located near Potrero, the beach boasts of fine soft sand and excellent waves. Parasols and chairs are available to rent for a comfortable day by the sea. Great waves. It is one of our favorite beaches in the area!

Playa Penca

This small, soft white-sand beach is exquisite for swimming, snorkeling, and watching sunsets. It's quiet and undeveloped, so bring your own supplies. There is usually a Tico named Ricardo selling coconuts and cocktails on the beach. Highly recommended!

Playa Grande

Playa Grande is our favorite beach for long walks. It’s a wide beach known for its powerful waves and natural beauty. While it isn't ideal for swimming due to strong currents, it is recognized as one of the best spots for surfing and sunsets.  

Take your sombrero, because there isn't a lot of shade!

Playa Conchal

Playa Conchal is one of Costa Rica’s most beautiful and unique beaches, located near the small town of Brasilito. The beach gets its name from the Spanish word concha, meaning "shell". The ground is covered in millions of crushed shells, making the sand soft, bright, and unique. The water is usually very clear and calm. 

It was ranked in the top 20 most beautiful beaches in the world in 2022.
